This painting was inspired by reading 'The Lighthouse Witches' by C.J. Cooke.
I loved the vision of the women swimming in bioluminescent waters which they believed had magical, healing properties.
Wild swimming seems to be growing in popularity, particularly with groups of women, and wanted those communities of brave ladies who face the sea in all weathers to be celebrated in this image :)
Painted in soft blue hues of watercolour, protected with matt varnish.
Mounted in white and framed in a dark grey 26 x 32 cm wood frame with art glass, made in the UK.
